How to Create Healthy Eating Habits

 ​In today's blog I want to talk about eating and how to create a healthy lifestyle by eating correctly
I read a quote once that said your food should be taken as medicine meaning that while we do not like how medicines taste never the less we take it because it will help us to get better
it is the same with eating healthy
the saying that what you eat is who you are is very much true as the food that you eat can affect your health
Not eating healthy puts you at risk for certain high risk diseases
In today's modern world they are all sorts of weight loss diets, but in truth and in fact many of these diets do not work because what is needed is a healthy eating lifestyle
The point is not to be about trying to lose weight at a rapid pace, but the idea is to maintain your weight by eating the right kinds of foods
Eating correctly has to be a lifestyle and not a quick fix
if you only have a diet of sugar or carbohydrates then definitely this is going to affect your bodies in other areas, for example high blood pressure or diabetes just to name a few
I am of the opinion that your diet should be rounded in that you should eat a little bit of everything but it has been proven that if you stick to more fruits , vegetables and fibres you will have a balanced diet

one of the other things that you have to cut out is snacking in between meals or constantly eating sugary snacks

Your meals should consist of eating more vegetables and green leafy vegetables such as spinach and others
You can create a balance meal by adding more leafy vegetables to whatever it is you are eating. Fo example if you are eating rice and meat, eat less portions but more vegetables
In today's modern world access to food is very easy, and at the click of your phone you can order something to eat
Fast foods and pastry shops are on every corner and we are constantly bombarded by ads with delicious mouth watering foods
but you do not need to make huge changes to eat healthier and it doesn't mean that you need to deny yourself of pleasurable foods
Our bodies were made to adjust, therefore having a pizza, burger or cake occasionally does not do harm to your health. It is rather eating foods constantly that are man made that does not take any nutrients to your body
making a conscious effort to eat properly will show in how your body feels as well you will have better looking skin

Eating healthy and moving about also goes hand in hand. Our bodies were not meant to be in one place all the time
This does not mean that you need to join a gym. It simple means that you must take the time to walk, run or bike. Which ever you prefer but you must move your body, as it helps with proper circulation and blood flow
In today's society people are way too much in their phone or on a computer. They eat in front of the television watching Netflicks and without realizing how much they crave snacks. Staying in one place for too long is not good for your health


You do not have to be a vegetarian or Vegan to maintain and have a healthy diet or lifestyle
Also the notion that eating healthy is expensive is a myth. If you do not eat healthy it will cost you more in the long run as medication is not cheap
Sodas and lots of sugary products as well as starchy food will spike your sugar levels. Shop at farmers market where you can get whole foods at reasonable prices and opt for water instead of juices

If you develop a lifestyle of eating healthy with occasionally indulging into snacks it then becomes a lifestyle
The idea is never for you to starve yourself , nor do you need to count calories . There are no quick fixes and a lot of these diet fads are just money making schemes
which is why it should never be called a diet, but rather a lifestyle habit. It is all about balanced and everything in moderation. when it comes to your starches, proteins, fats and sugar eat less, But go big with your vegetables
sugar creates inflammation so a lot of the time when we're feeling aches and pains it is because of what we eat
You can have a weight that suits your body type and it is easy to maintain if you are eating correctly
set small goals and then overtime you continue to set big goals , the idea is to not give up. You can do this
Take baby steps at first and after a while when you start feeling good from eating healthy you will never go back to eating any other way.
In another blog I will go in depth to look at specific food groups, but just know that you can simply create the life that you want by consistently eating healthy

I tried being a vegan and it worked for a while but I slowly but surely returned to eating meat again. One thing I got from going vegan for a few months was that now I have drastically reduced meat or dairy products. I have completely eliminate milk as it didn't do me any good (it was actually harming me but I didn't know it) and only eat a bit of cheese, eggs, pork, chicken and fish nowadays but in smaller amounts than I used to. I have more energy, feel more alive, eat smaller portions and drink more water. I feel great!

Our bodies are indeed great at adjusting. We can get by with eating a few slices of bread the whole day if needed. And we can also eat until our bellies hurt. The biggest problem is emotional eating, when we eat because it makes us feel good. When we are upset, we often retreat in food and go overboard.

Emotional eating is a huge problem nowadays. A lot of people have this problem where they feel the need to eat fast food or food that tastes good to try to hide away their feelings, their bad moods, their problems. Instead we should face our problems, think of solutions and try to fix them. And eat healthier in the process. Eating fast food will never solve a problem. It might make us feel good for 10 minutes but that's about it. Nothing else will happen.

Yes, I have family members that are dealing with emotional eating issues. They know it but can't seem to be able to control it. It makes them feel good for a short period of time, a short fix if you will. It doesn't solve the problem, it just covers it up. And when we are scared, we run to this hot, fast fix and get hooked on it and do it over and over again. It’s hard to build healthy eating habits when you’re in this hamster wheel.
