It is that time of year again when we put the clocks back by one hour. An hour back means a hour of more sleep. And who doesn't like an extra hour of sleep. I have often wonder why do we keep putting the clocks backward and forward. I am often of the opinion that this does affects our health.
I know that when the clock goes forward by a hour I feel the difference in body. Daylight Savings was invented to push the clocks forward in the spring in order to have more hours of sunshine for work.
Day light savings time according to research was official during world war 1. However in this era many countries are calling for Day light Savings time to be used all year round. Many countries have since abandoned changing the clocks and have stuck with having a standard time.Canada has been having ongoing discussions with regards if they should put a stop to changing the clocks as it is felt that there is no longer the need to do this.
Many health officials have also come out in favour of stop putting the clocks forward at the end of spring. There has been many research showing the effects of losing a hours sleep and the effects it has on the body.According to police statistics when the time goes forward there are always many accidents and doctors feel this is because the body's sleep cycle is disrupted.
With Daylight Savings time the mornings are darker and the evenings are dark by 5:30 to 6pm but for me gaining an extra hour of sleep I certainly do not mind the darkness. Hopefully at some point Canada and other countries will put an end to changing the clocks, as in my opinion I do not think we should be messing with nature. Let nature takes its course by leaving the time in its natural state.
With the time set back let us enjoy it while we can and hope that at some point governments will stop messing with the clocks and the standard time is allowed to remain. I believe in living life in a simple yet fulfilling stratosphere. Simple doesn't mean denying yourself of all the great things that life has to offer. Life was meant to be lived on your own terms and not on someone else's. It is about you.
